El Matador Beach and Malibu Seafood

Driving into Malibu on the curvaceous roads you’ll see ritzy cars and glamorous homes on top of the hills across from the ocean. This is the pinnacle of living, take part in it, at least for a few hours. One of the most scenic beaches in the area is El Matador [32215 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu – $8 in the lot or free along the highway] with its massive plops of artistic rock formations.

el matador 3I loved this beach. A short hike down a dirt path and some stairs will get you to a strip of beach.

Eventually we were flanked at every angle, but I didn’t seem to mind. I enjoyed swimming in the waves of the brisk water, exploring the tunnels of the rocks, and just dig the vibe of this SoCal scene.

el matador 2You could pack a picnic and spend a whole day here, but we had a lunch spot to check out: Malibu Seafood [25653 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265]. Fresh fish in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere is what you’ll find in this joint that has been opened since the 70s. Fish, shellfish, grilled, or fried any seafood lover will find something to swoon over here. I got some wonderfully grilled seabass with a heaping portion of coleslaw and a baked potato.

malibu seafoodA perfect summer meal, and a perfect time spend in Malibu. The beach is right across the street, will it call you back to its shore?
